key conventions

1. the genre of the film  is a thriller

2. the poster has shown different scene settings, which is giving out a little information about what the plot of the film is about. they've put in a tag line that says "what if a pill could make you rich and powerful" this tag line explains a miniscule amount of what the film is about. they have put the 3 main actors on the poser in order of importance.

3. the trailer has a voice over, which is explaining the film concept. As well as a fast upeat sound track, it also has dialogue fading in out while the trailer is on, so it oits explaining what is going on in the trailer.

4.  the target audience is 18-40 because of the theories in the movie as well as the plot goes on, it wouldn't be so understandabele for under 18's.

5. the film is a promotional sucess because of the advertising that was used to attract an audience also the ratings and reviews given by so many companys and magazines.

limitless analysis

limitless is a thriller; with a little bit of drama, I think this because the film is very mind stimulating, making you think about whats going on. I also think its a drama because of the the segments of the film where he has a girlfriend and has to save her. the setting is really interesting because it is  set in new york and new york is quite a busy place also the characters are business like men who are ridiculously rich to match the setting.

My N.C.I.S

My N.C.I.S is on Waterloo road.

Narrative:
1. the story lines that the programme Waterloo road might have would be drug related plots, also sexual content to do with teenagers.
2. in my opinion what draws the audiences attention is the lust and drama that goes on in the school as well as its relation to things that might happen in some peoples everyday life.
3. some narratives that might be typical of other genres could be soaps e.g. eastenders, reality TV shows.

Characters:
1.the types of characters that you meet in teen dramas are usually; yobs, chavs, gangsters, junkies, mental teens and the strange absent minded.
2. I expect to meet a thoughtful teenage character because if there is not one in the plot of the story some story lines won't click, as in just will not go together.
3.the central characters are introduced straight away, into the story line by creating a problem in the characters life.
4. there are stereotypes such as the chavy girl teenager, straight away getting pregnant and not having the father to take care of the baby with her because of either a misunderstanding or a problem between her boyfriend.

Iconography:
1. I can see this is a teen drama because the setting is in a high school where their are teens that have certain issues in there life's that need dealing with, with the help of the teachers in the school.
2.the sound codes in Waterloo road are bad use of language (swearing), music in the background and loud voices.
3. the type of audience that the codes used is trying to appeal to is mostly teens and young adults.
4.other genres with iconography would be a medical drama e.g. house.

-where the camera is place, this is how you get different types of shots, angles or transitions.
-A viewpoint  is the apparent distance and angle from which the camera views and records the subject.
-The camera angle marks the specific location at which a Movie camera or Video camera is placed to take a shot. A scene can be shot from several different camera angles. This will give different experience and sometimes emotion. the different camera angles will have different effects on the viewer and how they perceive the scene that is shot.

its all about me part 2 :) (media homework)

my favourite film trailer would be inception because they show the parts that'll intrigue you the most and draw you in to watch the film. one critique would be that because inception is quite confusing the trailer is not always understandable.

Its all about me :) (media homework)

My favourite music video is skrillex- bangarang because its funny and interesting to watch also the drum and bass used is very engrossing. One critique about  this music video is that it doesn't make sense to what exactly they are doing.

my least favourite music video would be Cheryl- call my name; because she hasn't expanded her vocal range also she's only repetitive with one lines of the song rather then having verses. one positive would be that  her dancing is great, also the mixed beats in the song has a contagious feel for dancing.

Lucy rose

I LOVE THIS SONG. Honestly Lucy rose has a simple beautiful voice, i just hope when she becomes mainstream she wont go spoil it by collaborating with a rapper. #StaRreal Lucy.

21st century music

what is music in this century? honestly I think it has no meaning behind it, music nowadays just engross' you and makes you brain dead (not literally) because it does not teach you anything. the genres of music which do that to you are rap, R&B, pop, rock and so on; me myself yes I do listen to these genres of music but then I do not get so absorbed that it becomes life. Then you have the celebs that write or produce those albums or songs they become people's idols, which I think effects teenage girls more because it makes them conscious about how they look or questions like; "am I fat?" i'm not blaming the celebrities....just blaming the image they give to fans and teens as well as children. i love music but some times when i hear music that is pointless and unnecessary it enrages me because all the music industry is doing is rotting young adults minds and children. this generation wants to be perfect due to what the music industries image is set at....when its impossible. #StayReal
